EFFACEMENTS

The body in suspense and the balm of silence.

Signed by Quebec artist Marie France Cournoyer, the EFFACEMENTS series gives form to silence through miniature clay and textile sculptures. Here, the mineral nature of clay meets the tension of wire to create anthropomorphic silhouettes—half-relic, half-talisman.
Each piece explores the theme of confinement: heads encased in clusters of white thread, clay limbs held by red ribbons, sometimes revealing a wound or a secret. Between the fragility of clay and the strength of the binding, these narrative objects, rooted in contemporary art from the Province of Quebec, become archives of the intimate and the force of the few.
Signature : Hanging sculptures (Clay, textile, cotton thread, wire, ribbon).
Format : Suspended objects on pins, presented in a protective wooden frame.
